PJ Hoffmaster

While we were in Utah, we received an invite from our friends the McEwens to go camping with them at PJ Hoffmaster, which is on Lake Michigan. Their other good friends, the Ongs, were also going to camp there. They have tents and we have a camper, but luckily we were able to secure spots close to each other so we could visit. Kayla and I have been talking about camping together for years! They're our holiday friends and we lovingly call them our cousins. We were so happy to be able to spend the weekend together outside, even though we didn't social distance from them and ate a meal together. We know that they have been mostly among themselves.

The kids brought roller blades to ride around the campsite, but the roads were a little too bumpy.

After dinner on Friday, our family went to the lake for the sunset. It's about a 10-minute walk.

The sunsets on Lake Michigan never cease to amaze me!

I'm trying to make my poses more interesting!

This one was my idea!

It's nice to have kids to take pictures of us.

Facing the other way!

So gorgeous!

Karissa was back at the camp with Jasmine, but the other three enjoyed running down the dunes.

Austin even brought his boogie board for an evening dip!

The next morning: Karissa, Jasmine, and Daisy.

Trey and Austin playing frisbee amongst the trees. That's the McEwen's tent and the one to the far left is the Ong's tent.

Playing BopIt!

A morning read.

The waves were very small this year.

All the boys in the group hung out at the top of the dune for a while digging a hole.

We broke out our paddleboard later on.

Lots of boats started to arrive. Everyone owns a boat now, with all the social distancing. They made for lots of little waves.

The beach from the lake.

Guess which one is Trevor, the dad of the McEwan family?

Jason and Lee, the other dads with dinner.

Me, Eeyeen, and Kayla, the moms.
It was such a relaxing and fun weekend!
