Your Opinion

To accommodate our growing family, we bought a bunk bed on craigslist for a steal. In their bedroom, Victoria and Karissa have all white furniture, so of course I wanted to have white bunk beds, though I hadn't seen any on craigslist, so I decided I would paint whatever I ended up buying. Now, I'm not sure I want to because: 1) I may be tired of everything being all white forever 2) it will be a lot of work with all the slats on the beds.

I have a picture of the ladder next to the white furniture. Please let me know if you think I should paint the beds white or leave them, or paint them something different altogether. (My dad and Mary Lou are here now, so they could help paint.) Thanks everyone!

Father's Day

I surprised everyone, even myself, and decided to go to church yesterday, even though it was way earlier than I went after having my other babies. Victoria and Karissa really wanted me to go and I wanted to see Victoria sing to the dads with the primary, which she did very well. Lucky for me, our friends had us over for dinner so I didn't have to worry about making a meal, though I'm sure Jason would have enjoyed making the meal.

Here's all my cuties on the special day.

"A" is for Angel, "B" is for Burp

I call Austin my "angel" baby because he is just so laid back. He sleeps a lot more than his sisters did and he already sleeps for a four hour stretch at night! He rarely has a very loud cry, mostly just regular-newborn-baby cries, not ear-piercing wails like his sisters did. Also unlike his sisters, he doesn't have a fussy time right before bed, not yet anyway. I love my drama queens, but it'll be nice to have a child who's more stable!

I don't know if it's the fact he is a boy and boys are just good at burping, or if Austin is just full of air, but he has the hugest burps I've ever heard coming from a newborn! They're so big they reverberate throughout the house! I love my little boy!

The girls got a new umbrella from the hospital gift shop with a gift card we received.

Austin Travis

Austin finally arrived on June 2 at 7:06 pm. It was the best labor and delivery ever, even though he was my biggest. The nursing staff were so helpful and willing to comply with all my needs. My own doctor was there and since there were no others in labor (someone had a c-section at some point during my labor), my doctor was readily available.

After some walking, a soak in the jacuzzi tub, and some intense contractions, he arrived hand and head first. Total labor time was about 9 hours, but it was only about 5 hours of pain.

He's much more laid back than Victoria and Karissa as babies and I seem to get slightly more sleep than I did with them, though I shouldn't speak too soon!

Here are some pictures of him at home. If you want to see hospital pictures, they're on Jason's facebook page.
