Important Days

We celebrated Father's Day and the 4th of July and I didn't get to do those important days the honors of a post with all the posts I've been trying to catch up on.

We got to celebrate Father's Day with Jason's parents. I don't think we've been with any of our dads on Father's Day in a very long time! We have some pretty amazing father figures in our lives. Jason is quite the amazing dad himself and definitely rising to the occasion as we try to raise these teens of ours! Our kids enjoy his playfulness and jokes, as well as honor his advice and guidance.

The best gift that day- the kids played four square for a while without it ending in big arguments!

Victoria gifted Jason with this Beatles clock to hang in his "office".

We love our dads!

We celebrated the 4th of July with some friends at Island Lake. We wanted to include all the youth and primary kids from the ward who have siblings in the youth program. It turned out that 6 families were there in total, including ours. We swam, went on the paddle board and kayaks, played spike ball, ate, and visited. Earlier that day, Jason and I went to the Downtown Plymouth parade. Kai was supposed to be in it, but wasn't feeling well, so we went anyhow, to walk along the parade and enjoy. It was early and the kids didn't feel like going since Kai wasn't going to be in it. It was a great way to start the day.

The way we ended the day was nice too. After we returned from the lake, my mom and Jim were waiting after having just arrived from their drive from visting some of Jim's family in Minneapolis and Chicago. We grilled burgers and hot dogs and had salad, beans, and watermelon for dinner. We played some games and then watched the fire works from our house where lots of people in the neighborhood set off huge ones, though there weren't quite as many as close to our house this year. Some of my teens went with friends cause they can never get enough of friends!

Happy Independance Day!

The best way to watch our neighborhood fireworks!
