Ups and Downs

We've had some very fun ups during the past couple weeks. My kids amaze me with their creativity and their ability to figure out things to keep them busy. I try not to give them too many suggestions because they usually don't like mine and then we all get annoyed. Luckily, they do come up with their own. They have also done a good job getting along, for the most part. It's hard to be with your siblings every single day for weeks on end, but they are managing it! Victoria told me recently that she will never say she's bored ever again!

Playing Just Dance

Victoria's virtual ballet class, before Jason completed her dance floor.

Her new floor for her stretch class.

Everyone enjoys the dance floor! It has foam floor tiles glued to the bottom of it with lots of polyacrylic painted on top for smoothness. I even do my Zumba class on it!

Karissa needs a wall for her tumbling stretch class. Her handstands without a wall are really improving!

Victoria and Karissa started to paint random wooden boards we found in the garage.

Lots of cuddle time with the kitties!

When the sun was still shining, Leia was laying out!

Erik cleaned the room on his own accord!

We played a good game of soccer that left Austin with a huge bruise on his leg!

Pull-ups! We have a band to make it easier to do more with the correct form.

Jason installed a ceiling fan in Victoria's room that we had gotten from a friend.

We got tadpoles from another friend.

They eat boiled lettuce or spinach every couple of days. They're really fun to watch! We'll let them go when they turn into frogs.

The kids surprised us with this awesome scavenger hunt on Sunday in the yard.

Followed by a super fun obstacle course (shown in the following video that we made for the boys' gym teacher.)

The video was taken Monday, the last nice day before three days of awful weather. We each raced a partner on Sunday and the winner in each pair competed at the end. The hardest part was kicking the ball into the goal! As you can see from the video, the person who made it in first, always won the race. For this video, Austin nailed it, which he usually did, but Erik did at other times and Austin didn't, once in a while, and it always made a big difference!
It snowed, rained, and graupeled.

This is graupel, a mix between snow and hail. It's done it a lot this spring. We just learned this word when we kept seeing these styrofoam-looking cold things on the ground.

When all else fails, make food! We finally made our Easter sugar cookies, before I put the Easter stuff away, and Karissa made these pushups with yogurt and mashed berries- yum!
The past few days have more downers since it's been rainy and in the 30s/40s. Not being able to go outside for three days (except when I got to run on T and Th), was hard for us. The weather is supposed to get better, so we're thinking positively!

  1. That picture of Victoria and Jason is awesome!! So many fun things happening at your place - WTG, Mercados! Crummy weather seems to set us off, too. And too much screen time, which is almost impossible to avoid now, sigh... I have kept thinking how grateful I am for the basketball hoop and trampoline we got the kids the past two Christmases, and I would be a mess without my treadmill! We are all moving our bodies more these days, and that's a big quarantine plus in my book!
